Former Physician Charged with Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
